Closing Concert: Opera Fantasies Marathon

To close this 2027 edition, Cadences Libres celebrates opera in a way that is both virtuosic and intimate.
Long before recordings and broadcasts, opera fantasias allowed the greatest arias to travel across Europe. True feats of composition, they offer instrumentalists the opportunity to revisit operatic masterpieces with remarkable freedom and inventiveness.
Gathered for this closing night, flutist Iris Daverio, violist Manuel Vioque-Judde, cellist Stéphanie Huang, clarinetist Arthur Stockel, and pianist Martin Jaspard bring this tradition to life by taking turns in a brilliant program, where the most famous melodies of the repertoire are transformed into a true chamber music conversation. A grand finale will bring them together for a performance based on West Side Story, in an arrangement created especially for the festival.
Recognized as “the young guard” of today’s classical music, these five musicians enjoy international careers as soloists and chamber musicians, while also being regular guests of Europe’s leading orchestras.
