“In the Footsteps of a Soloist” – Interactive Double Bass Recital

A spectacular instrument both in terms of its size and the breadth of its musical possibilities, the double bass is revealed in a new light thanks to Lorraine Campet and pianist Jorge González Buajasán. Blending virtuosity and lyricism, this recital showcases a repertoire that is still all too rarely heard in concert.

Throughout the program, Lorraine will share insights with the audience on how to appreciate the works being performed, discuss the unique characteristics of her instrument, and recount her musical journey. This interactive experience offers a fresh perspective on classical music and on an instrument that is often underappreciated in its role as a soloist.

Principal double bassist of the Paris National Opera Orchestra, Lorraine Campet is today one of the most prominent French musicians of her generation. Winner of a Victoire de la Musique Classique award in 2025, she pursues a career as a soloist and chamber musician that has taken her to the world’s greatest concert halls.
