La Fabuleuse histoire de l’Opéra Comique

Conceived by director Léo Cohen-Paperman and writer Émilien Diard-Detœuf, this production brings together the singers and musicians of the Académie de l’Opéra-Comique in a true theatrical and musical odyssey. From 18th-century fairground performances to masterpieces of the grand repertoire, the audience travels through the ages with operatic excerpts, arias, reimagined vaudevilles, and numerous surprises. By playfully blurring the lines between popular and classical music, this production recaptures the festive, inventive, and deeply vibrant spirit of the Opéra-Comique’s origins.


Extend the experience

• In the afternoon, the artists of the Académie will offer a mediation session allowing the audience to discover the behind-the-scenes of the show and the history of this three-century-old institution. Paid entry (free for school groups)
• Before the performance, at 7 PM, a "listening key" in the ballroom will give the audience some guidance to fully appreciate the work and discover its behind-the-scenes. Free entry.
• Before the show, enjoy a glass of white wine or a gourmet sandwich at the theater bar. By reservation only.
